David Lukacs


David Lukacs David Lukacs (1978 Breda) is a clarinet player performing the Benny Goodman repertoire in a way it should be done. His clarinet style is a combination of a warm tone together with a rich improvisation. He graduated “cum laude” from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and got lessons from the American Clarinet player John Ruocco. He also took lessons from Scott Hamilton, Barry Harris and Lee Konitz.

In 1998 he won the “Kobe Jazz Award” (best young solo performer). In 1998 and 1999 he toured in Japan with international groups featuring Bill Berry, Tom Baker and Benny Powell. In Holland he is part of groups like “The Beau Hunks” and “The Jimmie Lunceford Legacy Orchestra”.
